Abstract: A large spectrum of information can be provided by the analysis of foraminifera shells, based on the chemical composition and morphology of their shells as well as the species abundance patterns. One of these proxies is the ratio Mg/Ca, which can be used to calculate Sea Surface Temperatures of the past.
